Gustavo hit a dinger in his previous game, so in the last 2 games, we've seen all 5 of his tools on display.  Well, I guess we haven't seen him catch, but we assume he's doing that too!

  1. I would assume that Cody Hall has passed Hembree as a prospect?? Is he another Sep. call up?

Can Edwin Escobar be a Sep. call up?? I read that Bochy might rest some of the starters in September, but most likely Kickham and Surkamp will be ahead of Escobar.

Nice game for Crick (typicall start) walks, Ks and barely hits allowed.

    1. Hembree after some midseason meandering (experimenting?) has been pitching really well and in pressure situations (again last night)..I really don't think he has fallen at all but Hall has definitely joined him...We should see both...and DUNNING in Sept....I am liking LAW in SJ also..pretty dominant....

I hope they wait on ESCOBAR and indeed give the September starts to SURKAMP (and even Kickham) to really see if they are ready..

Gotta be impressed by Loaisiga's lines in the DSL.....as well. the closer Castillo who is like 19 of 20 in saves...with a 0.33 ERA

  2. Wow. Angel V hitting .280 in a tough league? I'm almost wondering if he should get a call up. How about we try Belt in LF!

Love our pitching. Dunning was very good with the team and Hembree has been very solid and reduced his ERA a ton (I have to believe since he started his improvement, it is crazy). He should be the right hand set up guy next year IMHO.

Any news on Runzler? We're gonna need at least one LF reliever. Wonder else we have in the minors to help on that side.

Not a lot of FAs we will want, so we gotta spend our money on signing up our key guys and bring guys up from the minors.

    2. Richmond had two games last night..The first was the completion of a July game when Villalona was hitting over .280...Then there was the regularly scheduled game that ESCOBAR pitched and Villalona's average is down to .230...He has really struggled since coming back from his injury..

  3. Another great night from of pitching. Kickham, Escobar, Crick, Leenhouts, Loaisiga... the only reason Augusta didn't have good pitching is because the games were rained out. It seriously feels like the Giants have had at least one dominant MiLB pitching performance every night since June. I watched a couple innings of Crick's start. That fastball was unreal. Hit 99 a couple times, and just blew it by hitters.

The college kids are still holding their own in S-K as well. Good times on the farm.
