11 walks in 9 games Austin Slater has become on on base machine - i guess he concluded his best way of getting promoted is to show Z. he can manage the strike zone - isn't that why Joe was giving the starting LF job?
ReplyDeleteHere are Slater's stats. Yes it is SSS, but the change is still remarkable. He is walking way more, and avoiding ground outs.
ReplyDeleteThe numbers are consistent with the news that he is trying to change his swing/approach. It will probably take him a while to feel comfortable, but I will give him credit for trying to improve something marginal, and sticking with it despite no immediate returns.
