I attended this game. Typical 2026 SJ Giants story line. Good hitting, terrible pitching. Keyner Martinez also followed a typical trajectory of looking awesome for 2 innings then hitting a wall. Is he tiring quickly? He threw a lot of pitches in the first inning. Is he uncomfortable pitching out of the stretch? He did OK with that in the first inning, not so much in the 4'th.
ACL: Giants topped the Cubs 6-4.

Maui Ahuna's strike out rate @ Richmond is nearly 38% (89 Ks, 236 PAs) and increasing, not a good June (47%).
ReplyDeleteAt 24 yo, over 650 PAs, is it fixable? Or is this just a small sample at a new level, and things will iron out?
I've never been much of a believer in Maui Ahuna. Seems like a good defensive SS but extremely challenged with the bat and has been hurt a lot. I had him listed as an Honorable Mention at A+ level on my Top 50 Prospects list.
