DrB's 2020 Giants Top 50 Prospects: #47 Jacob Heyward

Jacob Heyward OF.  DOB:  8/1/1997.  B-R, T-R.  6'1", 215 lbs.

AA:  .209/.357/.339, 20 2B, 10 HR, 10 SB, 16.8 BB%, 30.9 K%, 476 PA.
AAA:  2 for 5, 2B, 3 BB, 2 K.

The Eastern League seemed to grind Heyward down like it does to so many hitting prospects.  He has pretty good tools across the board, but are any of them enough to punch his ticket to the majors?  As you can see, there is tremendous selectivity at the plate but that comes with a very high K rate.  He had a BABIP of .306 which is right about average, so unless he gets the K rate down, the BA is likely to stay in the low .200's which really robs him of usable power.  While you wish a lot of young players would be more patient at the plate, you might wish Jacob Heyward to be more aggressive.
