 AAA:  Reno Aces pounded the Sacramento River Cats 10-5(6 innings)l

Luis Matos RF- 2 for 3, 2B.  BA= .409.
Isan Diaz 2B- 2 for 3, HR(1).  BA= .667.
Matt Beaty DH- 2 for 3, HR(4).  BA= .276.

An Isan Diaz sighting!  Game was called early due to wet grounds.  River Cats pitchers should be happy to be getting out of Reno.

AA:  Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Akron Rubber Ducks 5-3.

Wade Meckler CF- 0 for 2, 2 BB.  BA= .333.
Marco Luciano SS- 2 for 4, HR(4), SB(1).  BA= .176.
Carter Aldrete LF- 1 for 4, HR(6).  BA= .266.
Andy Thomas DH- 2 for 4, HR(3).  BA= .204.
Mason Black RHP- 4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 4.60.
Juan Sanchez LHP- 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 2.84.
Randy Rodriguez RHP- 2 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 2.78.
Raymond Burgos LHP- 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.96.

The HR by Luciano was a line drive that carried over the LF wall.  7 of his 9 hits have gone for XBH's with 4 HR's.

A+:  Hillsboro Hops topped the Eugene Emeralds 6-5.

Aeverson Arteaga SS- 1 for 2, HR(4), 2 BB.  BA= .206.
John Bertand LHP- 4 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 4 K.  ERA= 3.27.

A:  Stockton Ports outlasted the San Jose Giants 12-10(12 innigs).

Carter Howell CF- 4 for 7, HR(2), SB(7).  BA= .329.
Diego Velasquez 2B- 2 for 5, Sac, HBP.  BA= .311.
Matt Higgins LF- 2 for 5, 2B, HR(6), 2 BB.  BA= .313.
Andrew Kachel 1B- 3 for 5, 2B, HR(2), BB.  BA= .303.
Gerelmi Maldonado RHP- 4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 6 K's.  ERA= 5.63.

10 of the 22 runs scored in this game came in extra innings. Giants scored 3 runs in the top of the 12'th but gave up 5 in the bottom of the inning.

  1. Matos staying hot in AAA. Think he could push a July call up Doc?

    1. Matos is looking more and more like a callup for this season. It could be even sooner than July. It's not like the Giants CF situation is settled and Matos is starting to have the look the THE guy.

  2. Matos is going to be a star. I remember taking a shine to him when he was in Low A raking -- you don't see 19 year olds put up 15 home runs in low A often. I think Doc you ranked him as the top prospect in the Giants system a few years ago too -- over Luciano. I think this is going to be the vaunted Giants OF prospect we have been been waiting a few decades for.
