Down on the Farm: 5/20/2023

AAA:  Reno Aces destroyed the Sacramento River Cats 17-3.

Will Wilson SS- 1 for 4, HR(4).  BA= .205.

Hey! That was the score of the Tony Cloniger game but there were no grand slams involved.  Believe it or not, Will Wilson hit the only HR of the game.  The Aces put together their scoring with 18 hits, 11 BB's, SF and HBP.  4 of the 18 hits were doubles.

AA:  Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Akron Rubber Ducks 6-4.

Wade Meckler RF- 2 for 5.  BA= .368.
Vaun Brown CF- 1 for 3, HR(1).  BA= .286.
Hayden Cantrelle 3B- 1 for 1, 2 BB, 2 SB(8).  BA= .229.
Blake Rivera RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 1.72.
Evan Gates RHP- 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Save(4).  ERA= 3.60.

A+:  Eugene Emeralds pounded the Hillsboro Hops 10-1.

Grant McCray CF- 2 for 4, HR(7), BB, SB(16).  BA= .215.
Aeverson Arteaga DH- 2 for 5, HR(3).  BA= .201.
Adrian Sugastey C- 2 for 3, BB, SB(1).  BA= .308.
Luis Toribio 3B- 1 for 4, HR(8).  BA= .261.
Eric Silva RHP- 3.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 2.67.

After a slow April, Grant McCray is slashing .286/.367/.571 with 6 of his 7 HR's.  The Giants potential future catching logjam extends beyond Bart, Sabol and Bailey.  Two of the better performing positional players at A+ and A levels are Adrian Sugastey and Onil Perez C who are both young for the leagues and have and years of development before they are Rule 5 eligible.

A: San Jose Giants outlasted the Stockton Ports 7-6(10 innings).

Carter Howell CF- 2 for 6, SB(6).  BA= .318.
Diego Velasquez SS- 2 for 5, 2B, BB.  BA= .308.
Onil Perez DH- 2 for 6, 2B, SB(6).  BA= .350.
Andrew Kachel 2B- 2 for 4, BB, SB(2).  BA= .288.
Dilan Rosario 3B- 2 for 5.  BA= .182.
Garrett Frechette 1B- 2 for 5. BA= .218.
Daniel Blair RHP- 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 1.74.
Jack Choate LHP- 3 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 2.89.

Is there a Posey in there somewhere?

    1. Buster Posey was one of a handful of HOF catcher talents in the entire history of MLB, so unfortunately probably not.
