Giants have a pretty deep reservoir of pitching but right now they need hitting.

Bates has looked strong in 2-3 inning relief appearances.

Nick Avila RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Save(5). ERA= 2.79.
Harrison has been crazy dominant except for one bad start in which he was reportedly not 100% physically. Nick Avila appears to be the primary Closer for the Ems.

Vaun Brown LF- 2 for 4, HR(4). BA= .283.
Eric Silva RHP- 3.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 4.91.
Esmerlin Vinicio LHP- 1.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 6.23.
Jose Cruz RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 4.50.
Silva has 21 K's and just 4 BB's in 14.2 IP. McCray has a 5 game hit streak to start the month of May, 11 for 21 with 3 HR's.
2 of Giants 4 minor league teams are in 1st place in their divisions and 2 are in 2nd. All are over .500 pct.
ReplyDelete5-year college ball, 10th round pick, 24-year old Vaughn Brown may be the best hitter in San Jose, He's also the oldest. He has shown an ability to get better every year and is holding his own in his first professional role.
