The Giants played their second non-competitive game in a row against the NL East Champion Braves. Key Lines:
Johnny Cueto RHP- 4 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 5 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 2.57. Only two hits allowed but the uncharacteristic walks obviously hurt and hurt badly. Not that it would have made any difference in the final outcome with a moribund offense. The Giants offense mustered 7 singles and 0 BB's. No XBH's. That won't get it done!

The Padres fired their manager, Andy Green, with 2 years left on his contract. They are reportedly looking for a "name" manager with Bruce Bochy an obvious subject for the rumor mill. For his part, Boch did not even come close to a denial of interest in the position saying he is concentrating on doing his current job and hasn't even thought about it.
