Wow Blake Sabol really was worth wasting a major league roster spot all year last year just so we could stuff him in the minors this year and release him next year.
ReplyDeleteAs you worry about Blake Sabol using up a roster spot last year, Donovan Walton and Trenton Brooks are wasting good years in their 20's while Michael Conforto flails away in the middle of the lineup and plays a very negative left field every day.
DeleteConforto is a huge 2-year sunk cost with no benefits, Sabol, at 26 yo, may yet amount to something at a low cost, low in baseball standards.
Sabol was a roll of the dice that wasn't quite snake eyes, but it didn't rob Luciano, Matos, Ramos, Meckler, Wisely, Schmitt, Fitzgerald, Bart, Villar, Bailey, or even Bryce Johnson of opportunities: they all played for the Giants last year.
we have Jordan Hicks recuperating during the single A playoffs? I do hope Elijah Pleasants gets a go-- is he more of a starter or a reliever?
