Do the Giants have a deal for Joe Ross for next season after giving him the chance to rehab this year? What does the future hold for David Villar?

Squirrels managed just 2 hits in the game. Per Roger Munter, Seymour looked really good with a 97 MPH FB but poor defense got the best of him. This was game 1 of the EL Division series. Not sure but I assume it's best of 3 which makes the next game an elimination game.
joe ross will probably get another minor league contract with a spring training invite this offseason to try to make the opening day roster. villar is one that i don't see with the giants next season, he should consider playing in korea or japan next season.
ReplyDeleteVillar was the key for the Giants this year. He got off to a slow start and was shipped off. Sadly, we could've used him this season. But, he's not FZs boy so his leash is short. He'll be gone by the start of next year. Probably starting and starring somewhere else while the Giants lament that they don't have a third baseman. Sad.
ReplyDeleteWell, Villar had a big opportunity at the beginning of the season and whiffed on it so a bit tough to criticize FZ and Kap for shipping him out. I do agree he will probably end up much like Adam Duvall. A limited player with some pop for another team who Giants fans grind their teeth over every time he hits a HR.
DeleteHe had a tough start. He was sent down. He came back for two games in May. Then, he came back for a handful in June, where he brought his average up by 18 points. Then, he was sent back down. Came back in July, where he played intermittently. Never came back after that. I'm actually shocked that he's not been DFAed yet. This is one we'll probably bitterly miss if he leaves.
