I'll guess the Giants dialed back Hjelle's pitch count in anticipation of a callup to fill out some of the innings they lose with Alex Wood LHP on the IL

Avila is one of several Giants minor leaguers in danger of being lost to the Rule 5 Draft this offseason.

Damon Dues 2B/LF- 1 for 3, 3B, 2 BB. BA= .368.
Patrick Hilson RF- 3 for 5, HR(2). BA= .412.
Ronoldo Flores C- 1 for 3, HR(5), BB. BA= .275.
Nick Sinacola RHP- 3 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 2 K. ERA= 3.86.
Willian Suarez RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K's, Save(1). ERA= 4.85.
Suarez has 87 K's in 43 IP over two levels. He's 24 yo and has been in the system seemingly forever. Another guy at risk of being taken in the Rule 5 Draft. I could even see a tooled up kid like Hilson who seems to have finally added skills to the tools being taken by some team that has room on their roster to stash him for a season.
