Scouting the 2015 Draft: Kyle Molnar
Kyle Molnar is a RHP out of Aliso Viejo, CA. A high schooler who goes 6'3", 205 lbs. He has an easy delivery with excellent command of a low 90's FB that tops out at 94. PG says he has projection. He also has a MLB average breaking ball and a plus changeup. BA has him ranked #47 in their early draft ranking while Kiley McDaniel of Fangraphs has him at #51. McDaniel comments that he has a 3 pitch mix and keeps improving but questions his projectability. He is a UCLA commit.

passan on the trouble with mlb pitching and the amount of injuries

Molnar is another one I like. If he's available at #31, I'd have no problem taking him. I'm sure some guys will fall off a bit this spring as injuries always occur, but that crop of prep arms is looking very strong right now, as we've said multiple times.
ReplyDeleteD1 baseball has an article on a rising pitching prospect who plays for Hawaii by the name of LJ Brewster who is a junior and a converted 3rd baseman. It was amazing to watch him come into a blowout game last year and throw 93 mph. He was a 3rd baseman hitting 170 at the time and showed a better arm then all their pitchers. He continued to throw well in the fall so it's a no Brainer that he's a starting pitcher now off to a great start 3-1 record 1.75 ERA. I mention him since you've said you're interested in sleeper prospects from non pac10 schools
