Game Wrap 6/5/2013: Blue Jays 4 Giants 0

Barry Zito had one bad inning and Giants hitters were once again completely befuddled by RA Dickey's dancing knuckler.  Key Lines:

Barry Zito- 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 BB, 0 K's.  ERA= 4.06.  That is a pretty ugly pitching line, but Zito allowed 4 of the  7 hits and 2 of the 3 BB's in the 4 run 5'th inning.  On the other hand, when you put yourself at the mercy of the BABIP gods, those innings are bound to happen.

RA Dickey(Blue Jays)- 8.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 4.66.  When an offense manages just 2 hits and 2 walks in the game, there aren't going to be any Key Lines.  The best way to show the Giants futility here is to post the opposing pitcher's line.  That is pretty sickening to see.

Whether Loss causes the Giants to lose ground in the NL West Division race depends on the outcome of the D'Backs game against the Cardinals.  The Rockies are leading the Reds 9-4 in the 7'th inning of their game.  The Dodgers and Padres play later tonight.

The Giants get a day off before heading to Arizona for a weekend set against the D'Backs where they will have a chance to catch up or get buried.

    1. Easy there, Bacci. I like Amy G! I even drove up to Petaluma to try an Amer the Gamer sandwich at Lucchesi's Deli. LOL!

    2. I will say that whatever Amy G had done to her teeth, she came out looking like she is from Whoville(Grinch Stole Xmas). Sorry, I couldn't resist.

  2. Catch up or get buried? Come on now Doc, lets leave the drama to other sites more well versed in negativity.

D-day tomorrow, draft should be fun.

    1. The difference between this site and some others is I gave equal possibility to the Giants using the opportunity to catch up.

    2. ...and I'll try to post some thoughts on the draft between now and the start if I get some time.

    3. I don't what others say, but I don't think it is negative to acknowledge other teams are playing well.

We take care of our own problems and we should be competitive.

    4. The way I read it, DrB was just listing the facts, if the Giants get swept, they are going to be back a lot of games (buried is a bit of hyperbole, but a 6 game deficit is not a good spot to be in), and same if they sweep, they are again tied for the lead.

      Go Giants!

    5. Let's just say it's a big series with the difference between sweeping and being swept 6 games in the standings.
