Down on the Farm: 08-15-2010

AAA Fresno Giants defeated the Iowa Cubs 8-5:

Emmanuel Burriss- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .298
Eugenio Velez- 1 for 5, HR(4), SB(25). BA= .312.
Ryan Rohlinger- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .298.
Brock Bond- 2 for 3, 2 SB(8). BA= .292.
Eric Hacker- 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 4.15.
Brandon Medders- 1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 0 K's. ERA= 6.38.

Not sure why Medders is still around.

AA Richmond Flying Squirrels scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 9'th inning for a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs:

Thomas Neal- 0 for 2, 2 BB. BA= .291.
Sharon Schoop- 3 for 4, 2B. BA= .274.

HIgh A Modesto Nuts scored 3 runs in the 8'th inning to beat the San Jose Giants 3-2:

Juan Perez- 2 for 5. BA= .302.
Johnny Monell- 2 for 3, 2 2B, BB. BA= .263.
Wendell Fairley- 2 for 4. BA= .299.
Jeremy Affeldt- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Justin Fitzgerald- 5.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.74.

So, who goes when Affeldt comes back? Mota? Ramirez? Will the Giants just DFA somebody or will they try to get someone though waivers and trade them? Should be interesting.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets outscored the Rome Braves 4-2:

Skyler Stromsmoe- 2 for 4, 2B, SB(1). BA= .250.
Tommy Joseph- 2 for 4. BA= .239.
Kelvin Marte- 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.29.

Marte had a huge K/9 in the DSL before going down with TJ. Next year should be telling as to what kind of pitcher the Giants have with him. Stromsmoe seems to be the classic organizational journeyman going wherever he is needed. Encouraging to see Tommy Joseph's BA creeping up.

Short Season Spokane Indians outslugged the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 11-8:

Raynor Campbell- 3 for 5, 2B, HR(3). BA= .271
Ryan Scoma- 3 for 5. BA= .326.
Dan Brock- 2 for 5. BA= .253.
Devin Harris- 1 for 3, 2B, SF. BA= .208.
Carlos Quintana- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .266.
Edward Concepcion- 5 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 7.07.
Aaron King- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 4.09.

Rookie AZL Giants were idle.

DSL Giants were idle.
