Draft eligible Sophomore. 5-tool athlete with "light-tower power", probably enough speed to play CF and definitely enough arm to play RF, but a questionable hit tool. He went 5 for 35 with 17 K's to start his college career but then hit .398 with just 14 K's for the rest of his freshman season. Maintaining contact through his sophomore season will go a long way to build his stock. If he improves his strike zone control the sky is his limit. Oh, and it's at least a 70 grade name.
Doc, I am impressed and pleased that this site is getting so may hits during this year's hot stove season. Well done on your part to generate interest.
ReplyDeleteI am looking at the odds for winning the World Series at FanDuel. If you put down $100 on the Dodgers, you will make $260. For the same bet for the Giants, you will win $4,000. Let's make the playoffs where with the short playoff series, anything could happen. Go Giants!
The Giants 2nd pick is projected to be #55 (https://www.mlb.com/draft/2026/order).
ReplyDeleteGiven that things can change since there is an entire 2026 College season before the draft, it's unlikely that SF will fret over #55.
OTOH, they seem adverse (now) to long term contracts, so it's probable that they won't lose their #55 because they won't sign one of those tasty players that carry the QO that will cost them big bucks and the 2nd round pick.
The census is they need a #3 SP, but will they pay for it?
Do they want a 1-year trade when they also will lose Ray this year?
Best bet is they will sign someone to eat inning while they hope their system will deliver!
