 AAA:  El Paso Chihuahua's outscored the Sacramento River Cats 9-5.

Grant McCray CF- 1 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .251.
Jerar Encarnacion 1B- 1 for 2, HR(1), BB, SB(1).  BA= .444.
Wade Meckler RF- 1 for 2, 3 BB. BA= .429.
Andrew Knizner C- 1 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .368.
Devin Mann 3B/1B- 2 for 2, 2B.  BA= .313.
Carson Seymour RHP- 5 IP, 6 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 4 K's, 9/2 GO/AO.  ERA= 4.27.
Sean Hjelle RHP- 2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 5/0 GO/AO.  ERA= 3.18.

Is help on the way?  Big news here is Jerar Encarnacion resuming his rehab assignment and hitting a home run.

AA:  Harrisburg Senators outlasted the Richmond Flying Squirrels 3-2(10 innings).

Diego Velasquez 2B- 0 for 2, 2BB, HBP.  BA= .274.
Bryce Eldridge 1B- 1 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .292.
Joe Whitman LHP- 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 3.53.
Evan Gates RHP- 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 3.32.

This game was tied at zero after 9 inning.  The Squirrels scored twice in the top of the 10'th, the Senators answered back with 3 in the bottom of the inning to walk it off. This was Whitman's second start in a row allowing zero runs over a total of 12 IP.  He's allowed just 1 run in 19 IP over his last 3 starts.  He also pitched 6 perfect innings on May 3.  His ERA for the month of May is 1.55 over 29 innings.

A+:  Eugene Emeralds topped the Tri-Cities Dust Devils 8-3.

James Tibbs III- 1 for 4, HR(8), BB.  BA= .231.
Zane Zielinski SS- 2 for 5, 2 SB(12).  BA= .254.
Josh Bostick RHP- 5 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 K's.  ERA= 4.50.
Austin Strickland RHP- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.44.
Marques Johnson RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 2.79.

Bo Davidson keep raking.  Tibbs is hitting .325 with 5 HR's since May 11.

A San Jose Giants and Rookie ACL Giants were idle.

  1. Can't wait till Encarnacion is ready to get called up to replace Wade. He'll probably need some time to get his timing down due to recovering from his injury. He can share abs at 1st base with Casey Schmidt.

    1. The problem with Jerar and Schmitt is they both bat right. A lot of people(not you necessarily) point to the Giants futility against LH pitching and say they need a RH bat. The problem is they face about 75% LHP's and need at least one out of the DH and 1B spots to bat LH at least 75% of the time. Just my opinion but based on that they need to make a trade for a lefty bat for DH/1B.

    1. Meckler needs more time in the minors to at least prove his is healthy given that he’s been hurt all year and has barely played.
