Marco Luciano LF- 2 for 5, SB(3).  BA= .237.
Daniel Johnson RF- 1 for 5, HR(1).  BA= .160.
Drew Cavanaugh C- 2 for 3, BB.  BA= .176.
Osleivis Basabe 2B- 2 for 4.  BA= .236.
Antonio Jimenez LHP- 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 5.59.

Evan Gates RHP- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 3.57.

Seems like Seth Lonsway has been around forever but is he a sleeper in the system?  He pitched to a 3.01 ERA over 95.2 IP and 2 levels last season and is doing more of the same this year.  Finding consistency of command has always been his big issue.

Zane Zielinski SS- 0 for 1, 3 BB, SB(10).  BA= .282.

  1. Giants need to trade for Zack Gelof so they can someday have Zane to Zack to Zander double plays

  2. Jairo Pomares: began to look up, then 3 games earlier this month went 0-10 with 7 Ks, 2 Ws, then last 2 games 3-8, 1 K.
He's age appropriate now in AA so he's still kinda young.
Do you think he can turn the corner?
Is Matos the best of the 2018 Terrific Trio of Luciano, Matos, and Pomares? Or is there still hope for Marco — he is still just 23 yo?

    1. Still hope for all three of Luciano, Matos and Pomares.

    2. How would you rank MLB career likelihood among LHB OF prospects: McCray, Meckler, Pomares, Tibbs, Davidson, Guiterrez?

    3. That's a bit tough because of a wide range of age/levels. I guess I would move Tibbs up to #1 or 2 just due to draft pedigree with everybody else in order you listed.

  3. The pitchers have been the story in the Giants system this year and it seems like they are in good shape when injuries hit, both starters & relievers..

Not so much the hitters. Why it is good to see ELDRIDGE hitting so well in RICH to start, (to go along with Velasquez) and the power will come.. As for the SAC bats, there really is only LUCIANO ...one looks at his overall stats and says...meh.....but...since April 10th he is 26 for 90 with 19 BBs good enough for a .290 Ave and OVER .400 OBP...Still striking out way too much (1 every 4 ABs) but the 19BB/29K ratio is nothing to sneeze at. All this while learning play OF! Hopefully he keeps it up and will be there for the Ggiants later (or sooner).
