Down on the Farm: 5/10/2025

AAA:  Sacramento River Cats defeated the Tacoma Rainiers 7-5.

Grant McCray CF- 2 for 3, 2 2B, 2 BB, SB(6).  BA= .223.
Jerar Encarnacion 1B- 2 for 3, 2B.  BA= .667.

Tristan Beck RHP- 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 2.35.

Jerar has a successful start to his rehab assignment.  Not sure when his 60-day IL stint ends.  Late May?  Luciano's HR was a grand slam and reportedly left his bat at 106 MPH.

AA:  Richmond Flying Squirrels quieted the Harrisburg Senators 4-2.

Jacob Bresnahan LHP- 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 4.81.

Is this Walker Martin's long-awaited breakout?  He has 3 HR's and a triple in his last 2 games.  4-game hit streak in which he is 6 for 19.

Rookie ACL:  Rockies topped the Giants 1-0(8 innings in a scheduled 7 inning game).

Argenis Cayama RHP- 3.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 0.00.
Juan Bello RHP- 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 0.00.
Samir Chires RHP- 1.2 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 0.00.

Argenis Cayama seems to be the pitcher to watch from the Giants 2024 international class.

  1. Encarnacion eligible to come off IL May 23 barring.setbacks according to Pavs tweet.. Bryce Eldridge seems to have a good setup now being #1 Giants prospect, playing 1st base in AA Richmond, where I understand his family and friends can come and watch him play. Good for the Giants in their plan to slow play him on one team to get his feet on the ground . Buster revealed their plans on a recent KNBR interview . I see how Johny Level is off to a nice start to his season. Giants are lucky to have a Ron Wotus, a great coach and former middle infielder working with their young minor league infielders.

  2. Jerar's 10-day IL started March 26, retroactive to March 24, according to the Giants transaction list. Then converted to the 60-day, so that means May 23, more or less...

  4. Don't they have to clear a 40-man spot?
    How long is LMWJ's leash?
Is his .200/.226/.267/.493 in May enough better than his .149/.296/.284/.580 in April?
    Probably Villar gets cut again...
