Logan Webb RHP got Cained and the Giants offense managed just 6 scattered hits as their bid for a 4-game series sweep fell far short.
Tomorrow is a travel day as the Giants head to Mexico City for a 2-game series against the Padres with Sean Manaea LHP facing Joe Musgrove RHP on Saturday. Isn't Mexico City something like 8000 ft elevation? This should be interesting.
Cain, I mean, Webb pitched well. But, like all good things, the win streak ended. Most of Mexico City is 7,300 to 7,500 feet. Parts are over 8,000. Don't know the elevation of the park.
ReplyDeleteMexico City, is not only 7,200 feet above sea level (that’s about a mile and-a-half up in the sky), it’s situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and flanked by two volcanoes. The mix of altitude, heat, and smog can become quite uncomfortable at times, and may leave one feeling exhausted after what may have seemed a normal day’s activity back home.
ReplyDeleteMexico City is 7,349 feet above sea level; in comparison, Denver is 5,279 feet. I hope the G men bring their hitting shoes!
