Hot Stove League Review: Yankees

The Yankees knew what they wanted in the Hot Stove League and made sure they got it.  Key Moves:

Free Agents Signed:  Gerrit Cole(RHP- 9 yrs/$324 M), Brett Gardner(OF- re-signed).

Trades:  Acquired Cristian Perez(IF) from the Royals for Chance Adams(RHP), Acquired James Nelson(IF) from the Marlins for Stephen Tarpley(LHP).  Acquired bonus pool money for Nestor Cortes(LHP).

Minor League Free Agents:  Zack Granite(OF), Adam Warren(RHP), Rosell Herrera(SS), Nick Tropeano(RHP), Chris Iannetta(C), Luis Avilan(LHP), Kaleb Cowart(3B), Josh Thole(C), David Hale(RHP), Dan Otero(RHP), Tony Zych(RHP), Chad Bettis(RHP).

Summary:  The Yankees got their man in Gerrit Cole, but the remainder of the pitching rotation looks shaky, at least for this season.  There are a couple of interesting prospects coming along in Deivi Garcia and Clarke Schmidt.

Grade:  B+
