AAA  Sacramento River Cats defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes 4-2:

Gorkys Hernandez CF- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .301.
Andrew Susac C- 3 for 4, 2 2B.  BA= .233.
Joan Gregorio RHP- 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K.  ERA= 5.04.
Sergio Romo RHP- 1 IP, 2 H 1 R, 0 BB, 2 Ks.  ERA= 6.75.

Gregorio has two dominant starts in a row allowing 2 Runs in 13 IP, with 2 BB's and 15 K's.  Not sure why they keep sending Romo out for more rehab appearances.  Seems like he's either healthy or he isn't.

Jones has an ERA of 1.42 in 12.2 IP over his last 10 appearances.

  1. I'm guessing that Romo's rehab keeps getting stretched out because his pitching has been so mediocre. That suggests that something may still be wrong with him, inferentially if not by anything doctors can see, Romo report, or coaches, I suppose, analyze and correct. But it's hard to see how he would improve on what the Giants' pen now has, so that they have no palatable recourse except interminable rehab. They want The Real Romo back, but that's not available at the moment; and they don't want the subpar Romo whom they can have any time.

    1. Not sure I agree with this. Romo has had several games where is strikes out the side or strikes out 2 batters in an inning and they keep sending him back out there until he has a subpar game. At one point, he had two really good outings in a row and appeared to be all set to come back and then they sent him back out for 2 more and he was bad in his next outing. I agree, something must be not quite right, but I don't agree that a healthy Romo is not a big upgrade for this bullpen.
