AAA: Reno Aces defeated the Sacramento River Cats 6-4.
Darren Baker LF- 1 for 4, SB(5). BA= .261.
Bo Davidson RF- 3 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .303.
Aeverson Arteaga SS- 1 for 3, 3B, Sac. BA= .249.
Sam Hentges LHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.93.
Bo Davidson is THE guy at this level right now. He'll be added to the 40-man roster, before rosters are set this fall. The only question is whether he will be added before the season ends to get into a few MLB games.
AAA is the only minor league level still playing.
I think Bo very realistically has the potential to be similar to Heliot Ramos in terms of power (20-25 homers) but with 15-20 stolen bases and solid defense. Bo absolutely has had the more impressive minor league career between the two, constantly meeting the challenge at every level. Ramos as a youngster took longer to get going and he hit the AA wall for a good while, and also didn’t look as good as Bo has at the higher levels. When factoring in their minor league careers, I think it’s very realistic that Bo pans out and is a better player than Ramos sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteSacramento did a "Giant thing": they tied the game in the 8th, then lost it in the 9th.
ReplyDeleteUp by 2 runs, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Reno intentionally walked Davidson – the potential winning run – to get to Harber.
It worked.
Does playing Darren Baker suggest how desperate things are in Sacramento?
