  1. Luciano (23 yo) strikes out 28% and his BA is low, but his slash line is pretty good: .226/.352/.450/.802 with 22 HRs.
20-yo Eldridge: .241/.311/.513/.824 in AAA with 32% Ks.

  3. Report from Visalia: it was a rather quick pitchers duel, with a lot of swing and miss on the part of the Little Giants, who had 12 strikeouts. Walker Martin led the way with 4 strikeouts. He does not seem to have very good pitch recognition, as he was swinging at balls low and out of the strike zone. He played 3rd base and made a fielding error on a routine ground ball. He did make a good play on a hard ground ball hit to his left side with a runner breaking for the plate. He threw a strike to home and they easily got the runner, preserving the shutout. The only batter for the Giants who seemed to have a good eye was Jose Astudillo. This year he has played 13 games in the DSL, then 18 games in the ACL and now has 11 games in A ball. He hit .413 in the DSL, .393 in the ACL and is batting .368 in A ball. This year he has 15 walks against 14 strikeouts. The last two years he hit over .350 in the DSL. Perhaps someone to keep an eye on. Lisbel Diaz had the lone RBI (the first run scored on a balk, although Astudillo followed the balk with a double over the left fielder's head), and he made a very good running catch in left center, right near the fence. Niko Mazza kept the Rawhide hitters off balance with a fastball that reached 94 MPH. In the 2nd inning he threw only 5 pitches. The first resulted in a single; the next one a double play, followed by a 3-pitch strikeout. :) APGiantsfan
