The Flying Squirrels have a nice little streak going, winning 4 in a row and 5 of 7 in July.
ReplyDeleteThey finished June 5-5 which isn't great but it was good for a team that was losing 2 of every 3 games.
Although they lost yesterday, the River Cats got over .500 briefly, and are 44-44 today.
The Emeralds have climbed to 9 over .500 with their win yesterday, and, although they lost yesterday, the SJ Giants are solid at 54-28.
The ACL Giants are 34-15, the DSL Giants Orange are 17-9, and the DSL Giants Black are an incredible 20-7.
With all that winning, the SF Giants farm system is generally ranked among the worst in Major League Baseball for the 2025 season. Several outlets have ranked the Giants' farm system near the bottom, with some even placing it last in MLB (per Google AI).
The farm system is criticized for lacking depth and overall talent beyond a few top prospects, according to a report from Sports Illustrated.
Seems that the system must have more than just "overall talent beyond a few top prospects" to be doing so well across the board, doesn't it?
There is a lot of groupthink out there among prospect and farm system analysts. I don't think the Giants have the best farm system out there but it's not nearly as bad as the CW thinks, especially when you get down to A ball and the complex leagues.
