Bertrand pitched in AA last season to a 4.32 ERA. Will his contact-heavy approach work at higher levels? His 1.46 GO/AO is good but not dominant.

Dylan Hecht is a pretty cool story. He is from Pleasanton and about 12-13 years ago he came out to pitch for my men’s league team. Apparently he washed out in college and minors but got another opportunity and is now in AA. He didn’t fare very well when he pitched the one game for us as he threw harder than anyone in the league but seriously lacked command. His control has improved since but 3 walks looks like he may still have issues. Would be cool to see him figure it out!
ReplyDeleteMarco Luciano is among the leaders in HRs in the PCL and is the youngest by 3-4 years.
ReplyDeletei may be wrong but this may be Hecht's first serious stumble. he's pitched well so far this season. -es
ReplyDeleteI fear for Bertrand in the PCL. But he is older with a lot of starts under his belt. With a “crafty lefty” profile he might be better served by moving directly to MLB.
