"When the Giants Come to Town..." is my blog intended to chronicle my thoughts on San Francisco Giants baseball. My special interest is in prospects and the farm system, but of course, will comment on all aspects of the San Francisco Giants. I will also comment on baseball in general, particularly from a fantasy baseball perspective. I hope you will find the site informative, and invite you to join in the discussion.
Thanks for all you do Doc. Enjoy your well deserved break!
ReplyDeleteMr. Hodges eternal voice:
ReplyDelete"Swanson and Albies all the way to the left side of the infield, taking no chances. No one on the bases here for the Dodgers, but you know they'll be hoping to get something going here...
AND! And it's a SAD little squibbler to Short. Swanson fields it and spins, throws it to first!
THE DODGERS LOSE THE PENNANT!
THE DODGERS LOSE THE PENNANT!
THE DODGERS LOSE THE PENNANT!
AJ POLLOCK GROUNDS OUT TO DANSBY SWANSON AND ITS OVER IN ATLANTA
AND THEY'RE GOING CRAZY, THEY'RE GOING CRAZY IN THE BAY AREA!"
(and they're going crazy in Denver!!)
Was bitter sweet fun Saturday night when Will Smith (our Will Smith) closed out the Dodgers whose only whimper of life was the top of the 7th when Brian Snitker threw LA a 3-batter lifeline that would have tied the game had not Matzec shut the door emphatically. That 3-batter strike out shutdown sealed the deal against a depleted and dead-tired Dodger team that quietly and finally lost an elimination game.
ReplyDeleteLA Times columnist Bill Plaschke summed it up very well:

I believe SF would have had the same problem with the Braves and their 4 former Giants.
Hurrah! October 30 — Doc is back today!
