The Giants offense mustered just 3 baserunners off Thor on a gorgeous day at AT&T Park to spoil a Quality Start by Chris Stratton. Key Lines:
Alen Hanson SS- 1 for 3, 3B. BA= .261. Hanson tripled to RF in the 3'rd inning and scored on a Sac Fly by none other than Chris Stratton for the Giants only run of the game and only hint of a rally. On top of that, Hanson flashed some serious leather at SS snagging one hot shot after anther and throwing out 6 runners at 1B with the help of some terrific scooping by Brandon Belt on the day. Well, one would have been safe if the Mets had challenged the play, but they didn't so there. Hanson was playing SS for the 3'rd consecutive game due to Brandon Crawford resting a sore knee.
Chris Stratton, RHP- 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 2 K's, GO/AO= 11/3. ERA= 4.90. When Stratton gave up a double and a dinger back-to-back in the 2'nd inning, it looked like he was going to turn back into a pumpkin. He kept pounding the zone with a 2-seam sinker and the BABIP gods, aka Alen Hanson and Brandon Belt, were on his side over the next 4 innings to allow him to finish with a QS, his 3'rd in a row. He's turned in a total of 11 QS out of 22 this season.

Hansen highlights was amazing. Trade Crawford to restock the Farm? Yes SSS, but legit question
ReplyDeleteI suspect Craw is one of the untouchables from fan-following although I thought Matt Williams was also.
ReplyDeleteIs he worth a lot more than the $45+M on his contract?
