Marco Scutaro(2B)- 1 for 3.  BA= .333.
Adam Duvall(1B)- 3 for 5, 2 2B.  BA= .308.
Darren Ford(LF)- 2 for 4, SB(18).  BA= .315.

Is Scutaro getting close to playing for the Giants again?

AA  Akron Rubber Ducks downed the Richmond Flying Squirrels 3-1:

Jarrett Parker(RF)- 2 for 4, 2 2B.  BA= .255.
Ricky Oropesa(1B)- 3 for 4, 2B.  BA= .226.
Kyle Crick(RHP)- 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 10 K's.  ERA= 3.25.
Jose Casilla(RHP)- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 2.82.

The 10 K's show what Crick's ceiling is.  The 99 pitches and 3 BB's in 5 innings show what he needs to work on to reach his ceiling.

High A  Stockton Ports whitewashed the San Jose Giants 7-0:

Low A  Savannah Sand Gnats beat the Augusta Greejackets 6-1:

Tyler Horan(RF)- 3 for 4, SB(7).  BA= .280.
Christian Jones(LHP)- 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 2.28.

Short Season  Salem-Keizer Volcanoes were idle.

Rookie AZL  Giants topped the Brewers 6-3:

Jonah Arenado(3B)- 2 for 4.  BA= .313.
Nick Vander Tuig(RHP)- 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 1.38.
Conner Kaden(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 0.00.
Sam Coonrod(RHP)- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.00.

Like the patient approach with Arenado.  More baby steps for Vander Tuig who seems to make a little progress each time out. Kaden has a successful pro debut in rookie ball, which is better than an unsuccessful debut.

DSL  Giants doubled up the Red Sox 10-5:

Carlos Valdez(LF)- 1 for 3, HR(2), BB.  BA= .296.
Deiyerbert Bolivar(LHP)- 3.2 IP,  1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K's.  ERA= 2.20.

The Giants signed first round draft pick Tyler Beede for about $50 K over slot.  We'll see where he makes his pro debut.  He pitched into the college WS finals, so don't be surprised if the Giants take it very slow with him the remainder of this season.
