The Giants flushed another strong starting pitching performance down the drain as the offense again failed to produce. Key Lines:
Michael Morse- 1 for 3, HR(3). BA= .302
Tim Hudson- 7 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 4 K. ERA= 2.40. Huddy pitches at least 7 more innings without issuing a walk for his 4'th consecutive start. I think ties somebody for a record. Alas, it was in a losing cause!
The top 3 hitters in the lineup, Pagan, Pence and Posey went combined 0 for 12. Can't win with that!
The loss dropped the Giants record to 10-8. The Dodgers outlasted the D'Backs 8-6 to go 1 game up in the NL West at 11-7.
Tim Lincecum tries to be the stopper of a 3 game losing streak facing lefty Robbie Erlin tomorrow afternoon.

From the AP story on SFGate.com:
ReplyDelete"Hudson joins Grover Cleveland Alexander (six games in 1923) and Tiny Bonham (four games in 1944) as the only starting pitchers in the last 101 seasons to open a season by throwing four games of at least seven innings while not issuing a walk. ... Hudson has set the franchise record with 30 innings without a walk to open a season. ..."
Bummer to lose another series to a team we should beat. Hopefully Timmah can avoid the sweep with an Easter win!
