  1. Doc, with all the buzz surrounding Mac this year, it might make sense to include him every day, even if t is an 0-fer...

  2. Mac was 1 for 3 HBP with a fastball of the top of his hand.

  3. That's a very nice start for my boy Agosta. Its not really a fair fight, I'll take 9K/0BB all day long.

Jack Snodgrass started out this way in SJ - HOT! He's going to be a Chris Heston type where he doesn't have much margin for error. I like these scrapper low-profile pitchers we have, Snodgrass, Biagini, Fitzgerald. Sure, the most likely best case might be a Big Sedowski type month in the show... but you never know. I think that's where the Giants are going with all those lefties they drafted last year.

Also a very good start for Edwin Escobar. You have to figure he might be a big chip being young. Teams have to be asking about him already.

  4. Oh, and check out BA's top 10 youngest in each league. Read it and weep: 3 of the 5 youngest players in the CA league are Giants: Mejia, Blackburn, Crick. (And Addison Russell, if only...) That might keep the age/level guys at bay for a bit!

  5. Oh, and check out some footage of a Mejia bullpen session, done by sfgiantsgirl (Lauren Chinn): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzhmzB7iMdM

Big frame, loose arm, awesome. That clip got me even more excited about Mejia. He is a big time prospect.

  6. I'm killing the comments today! Agent Ned admits defeat, pays the Rockies to take Harang off his hands for Ramon Hernandez. Rockies going to flip Harang. 2 more surplus pitchers to go Ned!

  7. Think there is any chance Giants promote Agosta sometime this season? They usually do not, but that is a very dominant start and he is a college draftee, unlike the others who did well in Augusta, so maybe they will be more aggressive? I am still surprised both Stratton and Agosta got put in Augusta, except that SJ is so full and over loaded in their rotation.
