Game Wrap 6/20/2012: Angels 6 Giants 0

I'll make this short and sweet(or bitter depending on your taste).  Ryan Vogelsong pitched a Quality Start. No one else showed up to play for the Giants.  End of story.

The Dodgers lost to the A's 4-1 so the Giants remain 4.5 games behind the NL West leaders.  The Mets topped the Orioles 4-3 to pull into a tie for the top Wild Card playoff spot with the Giants.

The Giants have tomorrow off before starting a 3 game series against the A's in Oakland.  At least the Giants can enjoy home cooking for this series even though it's an Away series.

  1. I was at the stadium with my brother. But we hardly saw the game - we were at a major intersection where people go from one section to another (east west) and people come in and exit their seats (north south) right in front of our line of sight to the home plate.

I can tell you though Weaver threw mostly from 70 to no more than 88ish MPH, but with Ok control. I think he issued like 3 walks. Hopefully Zito can model himself after that.

    1. On TV, Weaver was sitting 88-89 with the FB. His delivery gives good deception, he gets great movement on his pitches and he mixes speeds and location very well. You don't have to have great velocity if you have all those elements working for you.
