Game Wrap 6/14/2025: Dodgers 11 Giants 5

Casey Schmitt hit his second grand slam home run in as many days albeit against a position player doing the mop-up pitcher impersonation.  Unfortunately it was way too little too late to overcome 11 runs and a vintage Clayton Kershaw performance.  Key Lines:

That's pretty much it.  Jerar Encarnacion had two hits including a double off Kershaw and had another lineout against The Great One.  Better AB's and more hard hits from Jerar most welcome.

You had to have a feeling about this game coming in.  Coming off a huge win in a battle of pitching aces, Kershaw's aura, Kershaw pitching lefthanded, Landen Roupp overdue for a subpar start.  And that's pretty much how it played out.

Young Kyle Harrison LHP tries for a series win tomorrow afternoon against Dustin May RHP.  Word to the wise:  Do not think about going to a day game in Dodger Stadium after June 1 unless you are sure your seats are out of the sun.

  1. The clowning done by Roberts using Kiki as a mop up pitcher and Kershaw throwing the Eephus pitch was very unprofessional. I’ve never seen that kind of stuff done by the winning team. I thought Robert’s and Kershaw had more class than that.

  3. Dustin May RHP has been alternating good and bad starts most of the year and especially lately.
Unfortunately, his last start was a bad one, giving up 5 ER in 5 IPs.
Even with a predominately RH team, the Giants don't perform as well against LHP (.215/.285/.354/.639) as RHP (.239/.321/.385/.706).

  4. I am glad the Dodgers wasted all those runs on such a stellar performance from Kershaw.

    1. Perhaps the Giants wasted 5 runs too?

    2. Considering that the Giants could start an all RHB team — although they wouldn't — they do not play well against lefties.
Doesn't even have to be a good one.
Two weeks ago Kershaw was bombed out of a game in the 4th inning.
Why does he dominate the Giants — no team has more losses to him?

  5. Rafael Devers traded for Harrison and Hicks
