For the season he has K/IP of 1 and a 2.25 GO/AO which is elite. He needs to find a little more consistency but seems like he's not far away from being ready for MLB action.

Trevor McDonald is looking a trade chip at the deadline for a bat.
ReplyDeleteThe Giants need consistent bats for sure..Now, IFFFF they want to trade for one at the deadline or earlier, they have plenty of pitching ammunition to deal for it...If HICKS can't handle SP and goes back to reliever, they are loaded with trade options from the relief corps..Then, with or without Hicks as a SP, you have Roup, Birdsong, Harrison, Whiz,, McDonald, Seymour??? and maybe even somebody else ready for the Giant rotation..or to be traded.. The two keys will be dealing young pitching for young hitting..and the evaluation which youngsters to deal.........Now, if they really fall out of it, they can also deal vets like Verlander and Ray (as well as vet bats like FLores, Yaz).
ReplyDeleteSteveVA
Not interested in trading Ray, that guy's our second Ace!!!
DeleteRequired for Postseason play..
Giants signed 29-year old veteran IFer Drew Ellis, to a minor league contract, believing perhaps you can't have too much fringe talent.
ReplyDeleteEllis has 47 major league games showing very little (.563 OPS) and 295 AAA games with much more success (.855 OPS) including 140 doubles and 97 HRs.
He should help the River Cats a lot, he may well be the best player there. Perhaps he'll be a latter day YtY and find his way to San Francisco.
