AAA  Albuquerque Isotopes lit up the Fresno Grizzlies 8-2:

Tony Abreu(3B)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .304.
Travis Ishikawa(1B)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .300.
Edwin Escobar(LHP)- 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 3 BBB, 6 K's.  ERA= 5.60.

AA  Richmond Flying Squirrels downed the Altoona Curve 8-2:

Matt Duffy(SS)-2 for 5, 2B.  BA= .313.
Mario Lisson(3B)- 4 for 5, 2B.  BA= .241.
Angel Villalona(1B)- 2 for 5.  BA= .255.
Devin Harris, Kelby Tomlinson- 2 hits each.
Jack Snodgrass(LHP)- 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 1.54.

High A  Visalia Rawhide whipped the San Jose Giants 11-3:

Blake Miller(SS)- 2 for 5, 2B.  BA= .303.
Mason McVay(LHP)- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 5.11.

Low A  Greensboro Grasshoppers blanked the Augusta Greenjackets on 2 hits, 2-0:

  1. Escobar has really struggled. Thankfully the starting pitching is holding up, especially with Vogie doing well, so no call-ups needed. But it will soon be time to reappraise Adrianza. I'm guessing that Sabean and Bochy would go with Abreu or Noonan over Panik at this point.

    1. Yeah, at some point they have to break the logjam of players who are out of options. I'm thinking they are trying to keep their powder dry for a mid-season trade or two.

    2. Who is the current most likely candidate as the emergency starter behind Petit - Berken? Kickham? Escobar?

    I'm starting to get concerned about Escobar. I expected better things than Kickham.

    1. PCL is to pitchers what he EL is to hitters.

    2. I think a lot of people forget that, and look at the PCL as a AAAA experience. Its a big time challenges for pitchers - experienced hitters, hitters parks.
