Down on the Farm: 5/15/2014

AAA  Albuquerque Isotopes lit up the Fresno Grizzlies 14-8:

Gary Brown(CF)- 2 for 4, BB.  BA= .267.
Juan Perez(RF)- 3 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .478.
Adam Duvall(3B)- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(14), BB.  BA= .280.
Nick Noonan(SS)- 2 for 5.  BA= .329.
Mike Kickham(LHP)- 2 IP, 11 H, 9 R, 0 BB, 3 K's, 3 HR.  ERA= 5.08
Brett Bochy(RHP)- 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 2.70.
Erik Cordier(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 5.40.

Maybe a day off to reflect helped Gary Brown get re-focused?  Duvall is a monster right now.  He's slugging .611 on the season with a slash line of .339/.413/.911 for the month of May and .359/.419/.1000 over his last 10 games.  An ugly line for Kickham.

AA  Richmond Flying Squirrels vs Bowie Baysox rained out.

High A  San Jose Giants defeated the Stockton Ports 6-4:

Mitch Delfino(3B)- 1 for 5, HR(8).  BA= .331.
Brett Krill(LF)- 3 for 3, 2B, BB.  BA= .400.
Brian Ragira(1B)- 2 for 3, 2B, BB, SB(2).  BA= .213.
Chuckie Jones(RF)- 0 for 1, 2 BB, SF.  BA= .230.
Joe Biagini(RHP)- 5 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 3.89.
Tyler Rogers(RHP)- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 2.61.

I'm very impressed by Delfino!  Interesting line for Chuckie.

Low A  Augusta Greenjackets edged the West Virginia Power 2-1:

Carlos Diaz(LHP)- 7 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 3.03.
Donald Snelton(LHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 0.00.
Luis Castillo(RHP)- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Save(3).  ERA= 2.65.

Be sure to check out a story on Fangraphs, linked to the left, entitled Prospect Watch:  Milb's Hardest Thrower? and other stories.  It's about Augusta reliever Ray Black.  Here's the key line in the article:  (the inning the author watched)…."might be the most electrifying inning of pitching I've ever witnessed."  Check it out!

  1. Dr. B: Very starnge, but Mac Williamson is back in the line-uop tonight as the DH for San Jose. Thought he was going to have Tommie John surgery?

Williamson did have the surgery. I saw his name reappear on the SJ roster, but he couldn't possibly be playing...

  3. Williamson did not appear in last night's game. His name is listed on the San Jose Roster as being on the 7 day DL.
