Brownie is hitting .273 in his last 10 games.  Fitz gets the promo and holds his own.  Machi is just waiting for another opportunity at the MLB level.  Rosario looks like he could contribute if needed too.  Hembree may need a bit more seasoning.

AA  Richmond Flying Squirrels vs Altoona Curve rained out.

High A  San Jose Giants defeated the High Desert Mavericks 5-3:

Shawn Payne(LF)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .258.
Mac Williamson(DH)- 2 for 4.  BA= .274.
Elliott Blair(1B)- 1 for 2, 2B, BB, HBP.  BA= .223.

Low A  Greenville Drive outslugged the Augusta Greenjackets 10-6:

Kendry Flores(RHP)- 4.2 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 1 BB, 6 K's, 2 HR.  ERA= 2.65.
Ian Gardeck(RHP)- 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 2.87.

Galindo is on fire!  RafRod!  Flores had good K and BB numbers but got bit by the longball.  Gardeck seems to be gaining some semblance of command with improving results.

  1. Its early, but I could see either Machi or Hembree taking Mijaris's spot. J Dunning and Rosario are also having good seasons. Its nice to see a young player like H. Sanchez playing everyday. I'm wondering if we'll see player movement in the minors after the June draft such as Stratton and Agosta being promoted to San Jose so Drb can give us a scouting report!

  2. Mijares is a lefty, so I would expect Runz to be in line for that spot. Although, when Mijares went on bereavement, they called up Rosario instead, so what do I know?

    1. Well, Mijares is the 3'rd lefty in the pen and you probably only need 2 so he would most likely be replaced with the best available pitcher R or L.

  3. If it weren't for his age, I would be getting excited for Galindo. They need to push him if they think he is anything more than filler.

    1. This is Galindo's age 22 season. It's certainly not young for the level but not excessively old either.

  4. Sorry for the string if comments, I just keep noticing new items...

Fitz got the bump to Fresno. Good to see. I missed it when I happened. Not a good game last night, but we need to get players with actual skill in Fresno who can help the big team THIS year, potentially.
