Preseason Update: Menez Deals

The Giants played another intrasquad game on Monday with Conner Menez  LHP looking sharp for the Black squad for two innings retiring all 6 batters he faced while striking out 3.  Menez credited the work of the new pitching coaches with cleaning up his delivery to get better execution on his pitches.

Dereck Rodriguez RHP was not as sharp for the Orange squad retiring just 3 of 9 batters faced while allowing the only 2 runs of the game.  Black scoring plays included an RBI double by Joey Bart C and an RBI single by Steven Duggar OF(yeah, apparently Duggar is still hanging around).

Andrew Suarez LHP Followed DRod with  2 scoreless frames.  I was pretty high on Suarez back in March as a long-reliever/swingman and he should get even more opportunity to shine in that role now.  Sam Wolff RHP and Caleb Baragar LHP both threw scoreless frames.  Tyler Cyr RHP took a shot off the bat of Heliot Ramos to the knee suffering a contusion which ended his day early.

Oh!  And Trevor Cahill RHP is out with a reported fingernail issue.
