AAA: Sacramento River Cats defeated the Las Vegas Aviators 8-4.
Jesus Rodriguez C- 1 for 3, 2 BB, 2 SB(4). BA= .352.
Bryce Eldridge 1B- 1 for 2, HR(17), BB, SF. BA= .244.
Brett Wisely 2B- 1 for 2, 2 BB, 2 SB(12). BA= .255.
Tyler Fitzgerald RF- 1 for 3, HR(5). BA= .256.
Thomas Gavello 3B- 1 for 4, HR(9). BA= .294.
Mason Black RHP- 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 4 K's, 9/3 GO/AO. ERA= 5.84.
So, let me get this straight....Jesus Rodriguez steals bases too? This was Mason Black's 6'th Quality Start of the season out of 24.
AA: Altoona Curve wiped out the Richmond Flying Squirrels 8-2.
Nate Furman 2B- 1 for 2, BB. BA= .600.
Victor Bericoto 1B- 3 for 4. BA= .258.
Carter Howell RF- 1 for 3, 3B, BB. BA= .222.
Manuel Mercedes RHP- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 7.48.
A+: Eugene Emeralds shut out the Spokane Indians 3-0.
Charlie Szykowny 1B- 4 for 4, 2B. BA= .277.
Luke Shliger C- 1 for 3, BB, SB(11). BA= .263.
Parks Harber 3B- 2 for 4. BA= .309.
Josh Bostick RHP- 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 3.71.
Brayan Palencia RHP- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 4.34.
When Josh Bostick is dealing he sure looks like a potential MLB SP. He needs to find more consistency in command, both within game and from game-to-game. Charlie Szykowny continues to rake after a slow start to the season.
A: Modesto Nuts topped the San Jose Giants 8-6.
Trevor Cohen CF- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .323.
Lisbel Diaz LF- 3 for 5, 2B. BA= .268.
Cam Maldonado DH- 2 for 3, 2B, BB. BA= .234.
Ricardo Estrada LHP- 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 2.63.
The double was #32 on the season for Lisbel Diaz.
Wow, Jesus Rodriguez has played all over the place. Mostly C, but a lot of LF, and 3rd. Fielding % .905 at 3rd in about 100 games. Ouch. Sounds like a might be a little better behind the plate. Doesn't sound like the Yankees thought much of him catching.
ReplyDeleteBut, hey, he hits .300 pretty much everywhere he's been. Gotta think Posey feels his D will be sufficient to back-up Bailey by next year, maybe? He was signed in 2018...Is he Rule 5 eligible?
MLB lists him as the Giants #16 prospect currently. Yankees had him at #25. Be a fun underdog to root for... Nice to dream on getting a little more pop from C next year.
Maybe a better hitter than Blake Sabol or Joey Bart, but worse defender behind the plate?
ReplyDeleteBlake Sabol proved to be unplayable behind the plate so that would not be a great comp.
DeleteRandom question. Why is it that when I go to milb.com and search for a minor leaguer, it brings me to the MLB page with no way to look at the minor league stats of the player? Is there somewhere that I'm missing that I should be clicking on? Thanks
ReplyDeleteI think it's a glitch in the milb.com program. If it's a player who has MLB experience like Marco Luciano, the MLB page comes up. If you click on "Minors" tab on the MLB page, his milb stats show. If the player has never played at the MLB level, I have more success using Google search then click on the link to their milb page and the page shows. If you use the search function on milb.com you get a list of recent articles but no link to their player page. If you click on "Follow" you get a notice saying you have to sign up for membership. Yeah, nope! If you use the link that comes up on Google search the player page comes right up.
DeleteNot sure how you're searching, Anon. The (admittedly roundabout) way I search for a Minor League Player, is I go into the box score of any minor league game. Then click any player from the box score. From there, I have that player's stats (which I don't want). But, in the upper right-hand side, there are 3 dropdown menus:
DeleteYear
Team
Player
So, if I want to look up, say, Tyler Fitzgerald, I'll select from the Drop Downs:
2025
Sacramento River Cats
Fitzgerald, Tyler
Here's Tyler's page below. on Milb.com, with Major and Minor League stats. The drop down menus are in the upper right-hand side to search for any player you'd like. Hope that helps!

If you click on the names in boxscores, yes, it takes you to the Player Page, but if you use the search function at the top of milb.com it does not.
DeleteThanks for the help. Yeah, on either desktop or mobile, the search functionality is completely unhelpful. Agreed, it works by going to a box score but a lot of times I’m just interested in looking up a particular player that I see in DrB’s write-up.
DeleteTry Google search then click on the milb link with the player's name on it that comes up.
