Another example of how pounding the zone with sinkers and getting groundball outs is not enough in the launch angle era. You also have to get swings and misses from secondary stuff if nothing else to keep hitters from sitting on the sinker.

Carmouche and Dryden have pitched well this year. The Giants have had luck developing pitchers selected in the later rounds of the draft. Roupp and Birdsong are recent examples of this.
ReplyDeletePolanco started the season stone cold with the bat. It's nice to see him heat up as the season progresses. His OBP and stolen base numbers are very good.
Hopefully Posey takes your advice and selects LHP Schoolcraft in the upcoming draft.

ReplyDeleteBryce Eldridge was removed from a game on Sunday for a pinch-runner immediately after hitting a double. It comes as not surprise he is now on the IL with a hamstring strain.
Delete...er it was Saturday's game. He is expected to be out 3-4 weeks and will rehab in Arizona.
DeleteEldridge missed time earlier this year with a wrist injury.
