Blogger's Note: Baseball America RIP

It looks like BA has put their entire content behind a paywall.  That is their right, and it is also my right to not pay it.  Fact is, I unsubscribed to BA a long time ago because you can get everything they publish and more for free on other sites.  Maybe that's freeloading and maybe it won't last, but hey, if you can get as good or better content for free, why pay?

I have removed BA from my list of My Favorite Sites because why refer readers there if they are just going to be blocked by a paywall anyway?

Apologize if this is an inconvenience to anyone.

  2. Every time I've paid some company to get behind the sports paywall, it's never been worth it. So I won't lose any sleep (or money) over it. :)

  3. BA's web content is good, but I get what I want by buying their annual, and that works for me. If I were still playing fantasy baseball, I did find BA's league Top 20's to be valuable for bringing up prospects who look interesting to get.

I've been too cheap to subscribe to any site before, but to get access Baggarly, I subscribed to The Athletic, and I've enjoyed it a lot, as there is great content there also on the Niners and Warriors, from which I've learned a lot from. If you get on their mailing list, they have eventually offered a 50% off deal, if you really want the lowest price, but I'm probably subscribing at the going rate when it is time to re-up, assuming they don't raise the price for an annual subscription.
