AAA  Sacramento River Cats defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 5-4:

Andrew Susac(Catcher)- 2 for 3, HR(7), BB.  BA= .269.
Travis Ishikawa(1B)- 1 for 3, HR(7), BB.  BA= .262.
Mike Kickham(LHP)- 5.1 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 3.46.
Erik Cordier(RHP)- 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 3.57.

AA  Richmond Flying Squirrels edged out the Harrisburg Senators 3-2:

Kelby Tomlinson(2B)- 2 for 4, 3B.  BA= .248.
Devin Harris(RF)- 2 for 4, 2B, SB(1).  BA= .269.
Kyle Crick(RHP)- 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 B, 5 K's.  ERA= 3.22.
Josh Osich(LHP)- 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 5.11.
Hunter Strickland(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's, Save(2).  ERA= 3.95.

This was Crick's second consecutive 5 inning 0 Runs start.  Although he kept is BB's down to 2 in this one, he still threw 95 pitches in the 5 innings.  Baby steps!  This is the first Osich has shown up in the highlights in awhile.  He has an ERA of 3.09 over his last 10 appearances.  Strickland has a dominant inning for the Save.

High A  San Jose Giants cracked the Modesto Nuts 7-3:

Chuckie Jones(RF)- 2 for 3, 2 BB.  BA= .264.
Brian Ragira, Trevor Brown, Ydwin Villegas- 2 hits each.
Matt Lujan(LHP)- 6.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.63.
Stephen Johnson(RHP)- 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 3.16.
Mason McVay(LHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 3.60.

Chuckie Jones comes off a sensational month of June with a nice game to start July.  McVay has a 2.40 ERA over his last 10 appearances.  Overall, he has 52 K's against just 14 BB's in 45 IP.

Low A  Augusta Greenjackets beat the Rome Braves 3-1:

Cristian Paulino(RF-LF)- 3 for 4, SB(16).  BA= .248.
Rafael Rodriguez(LF)- 3 for 4, 2 2B, HR(3).  BA= .276.
Christian Jones(LHP)- 7.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 2.34.

Is RafRod turning a corner?  I think this might be his best game as a pro.  Jones took a no-hitter into the 7'th inning.

Short Season  Vancouver Canadians topped the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 8-4:

Johnshwy Fargas(CF)- 2 for 5.  BA= .246.
Christian Arroyo(SS)- 3 for 4, HR(2).  BA= .238.
Shilo McCall(RF)- 3 for 4, 2B.  BA= .197.

Rookie AZL  Giants were idle.

DSL  Giants drubbed the Orioles2 7-2:

Mikey Edie(CF)- 3 for 4, 2 2B, SB(9).  BA= .294.

This kid has not turned 17 yo yet!

Today is international signing day.  The Giants are rumored to be in on a couple of players ranked just outside the top 30, a LH power hitting 1B and a toolsy OF.

  1. Finally! The prospect lists are starting to get exciting again. I had a feeling it would only be a matter of tinge for guys like Crick & Mejia. We'll see about Escobar, Stratton, Gregorio & Blackburn in the second half, too.

Plus, jeez, if Sussac and Williamson could have an entire season at their current production, but free of INJURY, I think we'd all like to know what that would look like at the higher levels.

Panik will take some time to adjust, but I think at the end of the year, he'll be hitting around .260 with a slew of doubles and a solid highlight reel on defense.

    1. Also, Cordier - Yaahoo!!

It might be time soon to find out whether Hall, Osich or Cordier can improve the current shakiness of the BP. Who else is there? I'm not sure Mellonhead Jr has done enough to get the callup this year.
