I looked up Astudillo after reading this. He is 22. After spending 4 years at DSL, he started 25 in DSL again, advanced to ACLand finished the year in A ball. This year he started in A, spend some time in A+ and now in AA. He had 2ABs at AAA as well. His total number of ABs is small for a top prospect.
ReplyDeleteI think what happened with Astudillo is the FZ regime ignored him due to lack of power but then Buster noticed his high contact and BA's and put him on the fast track. At least that's my working theory.
DeleteHe had 7 HRs in his career, 6 of them came this year at San Jose. 22 is still young and the body may be developing, I hope.
