Bo Davidson is eligible for the Rule 5 Draft this fall so nothing to lose by adding him to the 40-man roster now. We'll see if that happens when rosters expand to 28 on Sept 1. It seems like the sooner he starts seeing MLB pitching the better.
AA: Richmond Flying Squirrels outlasted the Portland Sea Dogs 8-7(10 innings).

Damian Bravo is a guy you don't hear much about but may be a real sleeper prospect. He's quietly had a strong season across two levels.

Not much more to say about Josuar Gonzalez. He's had a great season and is quite clearly the #1 prospect in the organization.
Davidson, Bandura, Gilbert, Lee, Hill, and McCray. That's a lot of lefthand hitting outfielders to find playing time for.

DeleteAfter last night I'm not sure how much more outfield play McCray is going to be given this year. Very bad defensive night for McCray, and with his profile he's got to be a CF type defender to have real WAR value...

ReplyDeleteIf they bring up Bo Davidson this year and then there is a strike to start next season my understanding is that he wouldn’t be able to play minor league ball while the strike is ongoing. That would be a reason not to bring him up this year as well as Harbor
ReplyDeleteI don't think that is a factor for Davidson because of his Rule 5 eligibility. The current basic agreement expires on December 1 and the deadline to add players to the 40 man roster is in November so he will be on the 40-man roster at the time of any work stoppage either way.
