"When the Giants Come to Town..." is my blog intended to chronicle my thoughts on San Francisco Giants baseball. My special interest is in prospects and the farm system, but of course, will comment on all aspects of the San Francisco Giants. I will also comment on baseball in general, particularly from a fantasy baseball perspective. I hope you will find the site informative, and invite you to join in the discussion.
Lol. Well played, Doc. We also had some players stand at the plate with bats on their shoulders so USA pitchers could work on accurately throwing the ball across the plate.
ReplyDeleteLol, good day for Bryce Eldridge made a couple of nice plays on the field, hit 111 mph shot to CF that Buxton caught, and he met his idol Bryce Harper, cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteHow did Dakota Jordan get an at bat for team USA??
ReplyDeleteGiants provide backups for the team if they want to take players off the field.
Deletelast two games played, Eldridge 0-6 with 4 K's. 21 years old. admire his confidence but i cannot escape the feeling he is more than a year away. and that's not based on my super duper SS.
ReplyDeleteI've been convinced of that since the 2025 season ended. To me it's as clear as day that he's not ready. Why is it even up for debate? Hope Buster makes the right move.

Delete-- timely 2-run double last night -- .263/.391/.579/.970 in his SSS
Interesting, the #7 batters in the Giants lineup got 6 rbi's...
I'm not convinced, FWIW.
DeleteEldridge got endorsed by none other than Aaron Judge!
DeleteThe latter praised the San Francisco Giants' top prospect, with the two 6-foot-7 sluggers connecting during a March 2026 spring exhibition game.
Judge expressed admiration for the 21-year-old's talent, calling him a potential "cornerstone player" and suggesting he could join Team USA in the future.
I thought Eldridge went to left field rather well. To me, that's a good sign.
DeleteDon't miss it tonight: ~Forever Giant Connor Joe is starting for the Mariners, batting 4, and tied for the team lead with 4 RBIs!
ReplyDeleteAccording to Jesus Cano Baseball America, Luis Hernandez top international signee will start his career stateside with the Giants ACL team right.away. that's exciting news for Giants prospect hounds!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely planning to drive over to AZ to take in an ACL Giants game or two this season.
DeleteOutstanding.
DeleteI mean, kid has already played & basically dominated in the Dominican Major Leagues with guys averaging 8 years older than him...
But wow, very exciting!
Does that mean he'll be playing along-side Josuar Gonzalez? If so, do they move Luis to CF immediately? I've heard a lot about his ability to switch to center, but I wonder if the hot corner would be more useful. CF probably a more important defensive position tho..
