The Giants road squad got the best of the D'Backs on a split-squad day. Key Lines:
Jared Oliva CF/RF- 2 for 4, 2B, BB, 3 R, RBI. BA= .421. Oliva continues to state his case for a roster spot. He may be the best defensive CF of the 4'th OF candidates.
Will Brennan LF- 2 for 3, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI. BA= .471. Brennan is also competing for a reserve OF role and has the advantage of batting LH.
Jesus Rodriguez C- 3 for 4, 2 2B, 2 RBI. BA= .313. Significant that Rodriguez started the game at catcher. He had 2 successful ABS challenges.
Josuar Gonzalez SS- 1 for 3. BA= .333. Josuar makes his second spring appearance, first spring start and first AB's. He started 2 GIDP's.
J.T. Brubaker RHP- 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 BB, K, 4/2 GO/AO. ERA= 4.50. Brubaker is probably going to have the main swingman role to start the season.
Nick Margevicius LHP- 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K's, 3/1 GO/AO. ERA= 5.63. Longshot to make the team. Potential for swingman role.
Michael Fulmer RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 1.50. Fulmer gives up his first run of the spring.
Landen Roupp RHP makes his third start of the spring on the road against the Cubs today.
Oliva better defense in CF than McCray??
ReplyDeleteI would like to see McDonald get a shot to start at the major league level until he proves he can’t . I think he has a Landon Roupp feel to me. Just a red ass whose ability to induce GBs and Ks will play well. My favorite style of starter in the mold of Logan and Brandon Webb.
