In the last two years of FZ's regime as POBO, the Giants promoted prospects frenetically which makes for challenging season recaps for any level. It's also likely the constant roster churning in the minor leagues made it hard for teams to sustain winning. Let's get to the numbers:

What’s your take on Quinn McDaniel? More doubles, triples and homers than Eldridge, sb leader, but not one of your two top prospects. Why’s that? What’s his story?
ReplyDeleteBecause he can’t hit for average DUH. It doesn’t matter how toolsy you are, if you hit for a low average and strike out a lot in the lower minor leagues then you’re not only not a top prospect but highly unlikely to get the promotions needed over many years to earn a cup of coffee in the bigs
DeleteA relative youngster in A+ ball, Quinn McDaniel showed some pop but struck out nearly 1 of every 3 plate appearances.
ReplyDeleteThat's a problem that needs some fixin', isn't it?
Quinn McDaniel has interesting tools but needs to make a lot more contact to make them useful.
