Game Wrap 5/27/2021: Dodgers 4 Giants 3

There was no comeback win here as the Dodgers hit 3 HR's to 2 for the Giants to extend the Giants losing streak against their archrivals to 4 games.  Game Notes:

Evan Longoria 3B(7) and Donovan Solano 2B(1) hit HR's with Solano's driving in 2.  Giants only had 3 hits in the game with 2 BB's and 13 K's.

Everything about Alex Wood LHP's pitching line was dominant(6 H, 0 BB, 8 K's, 6 IP) except for the HR's(3).

I'm still seeing a lot of swing-throughs on FB's in the middle third of the zone.  That is worrisome!

The Padres lost so the Giants remain 1.5 games behind and in 3'rd place in the NL West.  They still have the 3'rd best record in the NL.

Anthony DeSclafani RHP tries to bounce back from his last disastrous start agains the Dodgers tonight facing Walker Buehler RHP

Darin Ruf OF/1B hit the IL with a hammy.  LaMonte Wade Jr OF/1B got the call from AAA Sacramento.  Matt Wisler RHP was activated from the bereavement list with Sam Selman LHP moving out.

  1. Lineups are a science although the correlation with success is not high because the players make things happen.
    Or don't.
No one will confuse Kapler's (or whoever is doing it) lineups with rationality!

    1. OTOH putting Wade as leadoff yesterday was genius!
Will the hot horses, Wade & Duggar, sit against LHP Urias on Saturday and Kershaw on Sunday?
