  1. Really excited for Joey Bart - it was so key that he get back to being a dominant offensive threat and to regain that momentum as he approaches the big leagues again.

That said..What the heck are the Giants going to do if Buster hits near .400 for the full season, and takes home another Silver Slugger award? The future is Bart + Bailey, and the Payroll could use +$19M. He's got a buyout for $3M next year, team option for $22M. Can Buster be traded after the team option is guarenteed? Would they? I DO think that there would be buyers for a chance at having Buster for even just 1 year, at $22M. Especially for a team who would like to sign him to a longer term deal.

    1. If Buster continues to perform like this, I think the Giants will pick up his option. It's just a 1 year commitment at a reasonable price.

  2. Also, I think this stretch for Heliot Ramos is not an entirely bad thing, because a player like him - I think he's going to figure it out, absolutely, and it's important that he face strong enough competition that it naturally prepares him for MLB pitchers who will certainly make adjustments and find holes in his swing. As far as we all can see right now, the Giants appear to have a very strong stable of hitting coaches, and they're getting the most out of our players.

It looks like that's what's happened in Richmond, and I think kid will get the right coaching to make the adjustments that will continue to serve him when he arrives.

Ramos appears to be the next Sandoval - just looking at how many of his hits go for Extra Bases, he's got the kind of swing to deal with good pitchers, and absolutely punish the below average ones.

    1. I think the main thing it shows is he needs more seasoning in the minors and is probably not going to get promoted in a week or two. Quite possibly might not see the majors in 2021.

    2. Agree Ramos getting more minor league seasoning is not a bad thing. FZ has pointed out both Cory Seager and Cody Bellinger got 400 to 500 + abs playing in AA and AAA before getting called up and they turned into good MLB players. Should be fun following Ramos progress.
