Center Field is a unique defensive position requiring distinctly different tools and skills than the corners. It's therefore difficult to find centerfielders who are both great defenders and hitters. Willie Mays really was the GOAT.

Although Bader is technically still under contract for 2027, consensus of beat writers is he has probably played his last game in a Giants uniform. Gilbert and Cox would make a nice L-R platoon, but what does Bo Davidson have to prove in AAA? He's got the incredibly high ceiling. If he is ready, it would be criminal mismanagement to deny him the opportunity to be the Opening Day CF. Of course he could also play RF but what to do with Lee? Another possible alignment would be Davidson in LF, Gilbert/Cox in CF, Lee in RF and Casey Schmitt at 2B. But make no mistake, Davidson is the one guy in this list with superstar potential. The Giants desperately need to give him the opportunity.

Not sure what to make of Andy Polanco. He has a long, lean body that does not appear particularly athletic. Runs like a gazelle in the OF. Long levers appear to make him vulnerable to hard stuff inside. Peyton Bonds has the pedigree. Looking forward to seeing more of him next season. Tanner Mally is a Singles Sensation with zero power.

Frias finally made it to Arizona after 4 DSL seasons and is already Rule 5 Eligible. Could be odd man out in fierce competition for OF playing time. Josiah Kemp is Matt Kemp's nephew and looks like his unc. Here's what Perfect Game said about him: "Long and athletic outfielder with huge projection, bouncy fast twitch athlete with CF tools, outstanding at PG 16U World Series, PG underclass AA games." Can't wait to see him play.
