Heliot Ramos RF- 3 for 4, 2B, 3B.  BA= .310.

Cats scored 4 in bottom of 8'th to break open a see-saw game.   Heliot Ramos is 23 yo, not old for a rookie.  Do you promote him while he's hot and give him one last chance to break through at the MLB level?

Wade Meckler DH- 2 for 2, BB.  BA= .352.
Carson Seymour RHP- 4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 3.91.

Ramon Peralta 2B(ACL, 19 yo)- 2 for 4, BB.  BA= .295.
Derwin Laya DH(ACL, 19 yo)- 2 for 4, BB.  BA= .288.

Keiberg Camacaro SS(DSL, 16 yo)- 2 for 6.  BA= .219.
Dennys Riera 3B(DSL, 18 yo)- 2 for 3, 2B, 2 BB, SF.  BA= .243.
Anyelo Gonzalez LF(DSL, 18 yo)- 1 for 4, HR(3), SF.  BA= .306.
Diego Gonzalez C(DSL, 19 yo)- 2 for 5.  BA= .292.
Samuel Rodriguez 2B(DSL, 19 yo)- 3 for 4, 2 BB, SB(12).  BA= .316.
Wueslly Lespe 1B- 3 for 5, 2B, BB.  BA= .185.

Keep Keiberg Camacaro on your radar.  BA of .219 may not look impressive but you don't see that many players this late in the season at age 16, even in the DSL.

  1. Is it a concern that Maui Ahuna has not signed?
Are the Giants squeezing him because they went so high ($$) on Walker Martin and somewhat ($) on Josh Bostick (although below slot on everyone else) and they want to stay within 5% total to not lose a pick later?
He seems like a guy they want to sign but he has another year of eligibility at Tennessee so may want to improve his value for next year.
Not that it's a big loss in a cosmic sense, but he's an interesting pick.

    1. Maui Ahuna is an interesting prospect but not an essential sign. He got off to a rough start to his junior season after going from Kansas to Tennessee through the transfer portal. I am sure he is meditating on whether to sign a below-slot deal now or go back to school and try to raise his stock for next year. Senior's generally have little leverage so he is probably better off signing now.

    2. Maui Ahuna is an interesting prospect for me being from Hawaii. Agree with your comments Doc, hope Maui does what's best for him. He mentioned on a TV interview that he knows Kai Correa who is also from Hilo Hi, so that's a positive. Not an essential sign but based on his solid college career, high pre draft ranking #48 by MLB pipeline if I remember correctly, he would be a nice lottery ticket to sign. It was nice to hear on a Roger Munter podcast about how high draft guru Jim Callis is on the entire Giants draft class . He spoke highly of Maui Ahuna The Giants area scouts seem to do a good job on 2nd and 3rd day picks. See Vaun Brown and Wade Meckler to name a couple of lower picks

  3. Ramos is young enough where he's not yet a AAAA type. He's never even really hit above A ball anyway. If he came from another team and had this kind of run we'd see him as a breakout candidate. So he's worth another look.
